The Clinical Outcome Committee of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association has released patient-based, multi-dimensional and scientific clinical evaluation tools, JOA Back Pain Evaluation Questionnaire (JOABPEQ) and JOA Cervical Myelopathy Evaluation Questionnaire (JOACMEQ) for clinical evaluation of patients with back pain and cervical myelopathy. These questionnaires are designed to replace the former JOA scoring systems for back pain and cervical myelopathy, which are surgeon-based evaluation tools.
